Body Art
I am also an awarding winning make-up artist with a creative practice that traverses three decades. This has evolved naturally over time to include botanical art and photography as well as nature writing. However, there has always been an element of my work that has been motivated by the natural world.
Body art has been used by humans throughout our history for effect in beauty, rituals, theatre, film, fashion and sub-cultures. It is a human art form that allows a flow of creative expression. Influenced by culture as well as society and politics, it offers a sense of self whilst giving form to cultural identity.
